02122018 I did go to Naples. It was a heavenly place for my shoot and a tremendous landmark for my project. Walking in the narrow streets under the crumbling balconies of old colorful buildings, keeping my head up and my camera always ‘on’, was an amazing visual experience. I couldn’t keep my head down, not for a minute, not to miss any shooting opportunity but to keep following the cloth-lines as they ran from one balcony to another. 02142018 We visited the island of Capri, which is a just a short boat ride from Positano. While the tiny island is packed with day trippers by day, in the evening it is quiet, peaceful, beautiful. For even more nighttime solitude we stayed in Anacapri, away from the party scene in the main town. In just a couple of days we got a good feel for the island by taking the bus and walking all over! 02202018 Dear Dion, many thanks for your help during our stay on the totally beautiful Island of Ischia last week, it simply wasn't long enough to take in all the fantastic delights that this stunning Island offers. We will absolutely be back, but in the meantime, thank you again for your expert guidance, given freely and in great spirit, truly an Ischian trait I believe! 02212018 Today, Ischia is a popular tourist destination, welcoming up to 6 million visitors per year, mainly from the Italian mainland as well as Germany (approximately 5,000 Germans are resident on the island), although it has become an increasingly popular destination for the well-to-do Eastern Europeans (particularly Russia and Poland). 02232018 Pozzuoli is bursting at the seams with bars, restaurants and pizzerie. For lunch try one of the seafood restaurants down by the port.  Most serve an antipasto misto of cold and hot seafood dishes, accompanied by little balls of fried dough, called zeppollini. Then, if you have room, everyone serves the standard seafood pasta dishes and main courses.  Wash it all down with a local Falanghina, the white wine of the area. 02242018 The scenery is magic; directly on the beach and by the sea, with Procida in front and Ischia behind, and Monte di Procida on the right. The venue is very big, and the most special area is no doubt represented by 5 or 6 gazebo directly on the beach where you can both take an aperitif and eat. Perfect for families with kids; the parents relax and eat by the sun and their kids play on the beach close to them. Lido Turistico Beach Park, Bacoli (Naples) | My Travel Blog
02252018 Around Naples, volcanoes and tourism are intimate friends. Pompeii, which receives around three million visitors a year, was destroyed by the devastating 79 AD eruption of Mount Vesuvius. And although the Solfatara fumaroles in Naples’ western outskirts are more of a niche attraction these days, they were fixtures on the 18th and 19th century Grand Tour.  ‘Locals console themselves with religion’: Life in the shadow of an active volcano | The Telegraph
