IS LAND. IS WINE. IS IDENTITY. The Irpinia Sannio Chamber of Commerce will play a leading role at Vinitaly 2026. A unified claim “Irpinia Sannio IS” – designed to strengthen the territory’s recognizability through a contemporary narrative capable of highlighting biodiversity, landscape, and production excellence. The claim refers both to the initials of Irpinia Sannio and to the English verb “to be,” opening up to international communication and multiple storytelling possibilities. AN IMMERSIVE EXPERIENCE AMONG WINE LANDSCAPES The Regional Park of Taburno Camposauro — a green area in the heart of Campania — will be the protagonist of the 2025 edition of 'Discoveries in the Vineyard', the event dedicated to wine tourism. The event is aimed at owners of 'open-top' cars, such as convertibles, spiders, and cabriolets of all eras, and offers a weekend of tastings, winery visits, cultural stops, and routes immersed in nature, with the aim of making the Sannio hinterland known through slow tourism. THE SPECIAL SPARKLING WINES FROM THE FALANGHINA GRAPE Falanghina wines are pretty nice and have a good aging potential: was re-evaluated after the phylloxera pest because it was not affected and it can often be grown ungrafted. The cultivation area of this white wine variety covers about 5% of the vineyards of the region: Sannio and Campi Flegrei have the greatest vocation. Falanghina prefers a dry climate and hilly soils and it has round berries with thick skin. Libero Rillo added, “Ensuring the excellent quality of the local wines is one of our main goals but the greater picture is contributing to the economic and cultural future of the region”. With such a wealth of wine and history, and a location well situated in the centre of the Italian “boot”, Sannio is poised to be on the map of traveller and wine lover alike. Discovering the wines of Italy’s Sannio region | Japan Today

HERE FARMERS DID NOT PULL OUT THEIR "OLD" VINES I tasted through a few wines from Sannio recently at a lunch sponsored by the Sannio Consorzio Tutela Vini, an organization that supports the area’s viticulture, and was impressed with the lineup. The quality on display left me with no choice but to recommend all of the following bottles to anyone looking for everyday selections at great prices.
