DESIGNED AS "A SCULPTURE THAT YOU ENTER" Curved panels of weathering steel swaddle this entrance to Monte Sant'Angelo Subway Station, completed by sculptor Anish Kapoor. Set to open on 11 September, the textured pebble-like entrance is one of two created by Kapoor and Amanda Levete's studio AL_A linking to the underground in Naples' Traiano district. Both entrances link to a network of tunnels and designs draw on the geology of their surroundings in Naples. Anish Kapoor's long-awaited underground station set to open in Naples | Dezeen

POSTWAR ITALIAN CINEMA AND NEAPOLITAN STYLE “We’re in the business of fantasies,” said Ian Griffiths before a show as fantastical as any conjured during his 38 years at Max Mara. “We deal in romantic ideas. So in this collection when we talk about Naples, we talk about a fantasy of Naples. And to me Naples is the most extremely Italian city – the city where you have the most Italianness.” Max Mara - Resort '26 | Vogue Scandinavia

CREWS COMPETING IN THE 38th REGATTA IN NAPLES INCLUDING AT LEAST ONE WOMAN This week’s announcement from the America's Cup felt momentous. For the first time in its 174-year history, female sailors will be mandated onboard AC75s. This cannot become another Instagram moment with headlines about “sparkling” or “smiling” female sailors that miss the point entirely. Mandating female inclusion must be backed by systems that identify raw talent, prepare women to earn selection on merit, and ensure they are seen as sailors first. TOO MUCH IN THE BEST WAY Naples is all aesthetic trash and everyday theatre. Fake flowers on balconies, shrines by scooters, plastic tablecloths, lace curtains. Life spills into the streets: fried pizza in wax paper, eaten standing. Football always on in living rooms. Granfathers still running restaurants, greetings regulars like family. Messy, loud, full of life — and easy to get lost in. How to Napoli. | Studio Sucks City Guide

ONE FEVER DREAM When I first went to Napoli, I was observing the city through the narrow black viewfinder of my Super 8mm camera. Most of the film, however, got lost in development. From Antiquity to the Saracens and the Spanish, the ruling classes vanished many times. But the people survived. The lazzaroni, the poorest of the poor, carry that burning fire of Napoli as their beacon. I now understood these archetypes so “normal” to the city while framing them. I decided to cast my lead characters for my lost film about Naples. Nomas Magazine - Prove 'e Bellezza | The Stimuleye

A VISUAL AND NARRATIVE JOURNEY Nomas magazine issue 21 is dedicated to the most sung city of Italy—to Naples. The port city, the queen of the South with the heritage of its historical centre, with its palazzi and its poor neighbourhoods. An ideal place for nomads in search of beauty in the daily life of a city which remains restless even when it goes silent. A culinary destination, Naples retains a passion for football, design, jazz and writers. Nomas №21 – Napoli | Edicola 518

FIFTY SHADES OF BLUE Kevin De Bruyne's next challenge comes in Serie A after his free transfer to reigning champion Napoli, and the 34 year-old is already noticing the difference between new boss Conte and Guardiola. "I'd say they're two different ways to play football: Pep is probably a little more focused on ball control and possession, while Conte is a little more structured in his game and focuses a lot on mentality." As summer signings in Naples, the former Premier League star was called the "king" by the fans when he arrived in Italy. De Bruyne on the differences between Pep, Conte | beIN Sports

PASTA ALLE VONGOLE WITH NONNA LUISA Naples is famous for its vongole and we eat a lot of seafood here in the city. We Napoletani are completely mad about food. It is always on our minds – and usually the topic of conversation. Sunday lunch with family is a ritual we stick to religiously. It is an excuse to come together, share laughter and a great many dishes. A Neapolitan lunch doesn’t just last one hour – sometimes it can go on until dinnertime and we will eat and eat and eat and talk about eating while we eat.’ Five delicious Italian recipes straight from Nonna's cookbook | Daily Mail

'GENIO DELLA PIZZA' BACK TO PIZZA CAPITAL OF THE WORLD In my twenties, I started traveling to Naples on my own for extended periods of time and truly fell in love with everything the city had to offer. Naples is such a unique place, built on survival and filled with traditions — traditions in food, music, crime, love, art, religion, mentality. If you go, go with an open heart and a sense of humor. She won’t disappoint. Here are my favorite places to caffeinate, eat, snack, see, shop, and stay. He Makes the Best Pizza the USA. These Are His Top Spots in Naples | Fathom

NEXT, NAPLES TO HOST THE LOUIS VUITTON 38TH AMERICA’S CUP The tome traces the evolution of the Cup, from the initial race off the coast of England in 1851 to the latest 37th defender-versus-challenger contest. Over the past two centuries, the Cup has transitioned into a high-tech, high-profile, and high-dollar racing series akin to Formula 1. That rich, 170-year history has been artfully packaged up into one coffee table book. Sports journalist Giuseppe (Pino) Allievi spent six years researching and curating content, and also edited the copy. YOU NEED TO EAT IT IN THE PLACE IT WAS INVENTED To understand [pizza], you go to Naples, and you eat pizza the way it's supposed to be, al portafoglio" says Daniele Uditi, Neapolitan-born master pizzamaker, — in the US for more than 15 years — referring to Neapolitan street pizza that is folded twice on its sides "wallet-style". "Neapolitan pizza is an artisanal product, so sometimes you don't find the perfect circle. I think it's a perfect representation of the city. Is not a perfect circle. Naples has good things and defects, but when you take a bite, everything makes total sense." A pizza chef's guide to the best pizza in Naples | BBC Travel
