"TAURASI THE KING OF SOUTHERN ITALY" The Taurasi DOCG was formed in 1993 and was southern Italy’s first DOCG. The denomination allows for two different labels: Taurasi DOCG and Taurasi Riserva DOCG. Taurasi’s denomination comprises 17 communes that cover a range of soils, vineyard altitudes, and microclimates. Some wineries in Taurasi are making wines from 100+ year old vines.
