THE BRUNOS TAURASI This red wine from the Campania Petilia winery comes from pure Aglianico grapes cultivated in the Taurasi and Paternopoli soils near Avellino: here, vines about 20 years old grow on clayey soils with a good presence of limestone, at about 450 m above sea level. The Bruno family describe their home turf of Irpinia in a poetic way. They call it “luxuriant and hostile to nobles…bastard.” The grapes harvested between late October and early November undergo the classic red vinification process with a long maceration phase in contact with the skins. Ageing takes place in barriques and tonneaux for about 18/24 months. Taurasi Riserva "Tesole" DOCG PETILIA | Ur Italian Wines
