WHERE POSIDONIA IS PRESENT Cilento is a huge natural capital: a National Park and two Marine Protected Areas conserve indigenous biodiversity from different marine habitats, like seagrass meadows, coral communities, and underwater caves. Thanks to the invaluable collaboration with the "Cilento a Vela" sailing team, researchers, students, and professors were able to compare the biodiversity of the crucial Posidonia oceanica meadows, the true green lung of the Mediterranean, with that of port areas more exposed to human impact.
