AFTER NEARLY 400 YEARS, CANTINE DI MARZO REMAINS THE OLDEST WINERY IN CAMPANIA Today, Ferrante di Somma is the sole administrator for the company, leading both its winemaking and sales strategies. The Greco di Tufo DOCG — sits in the hills of Irpinia and the province of Avellino — takes its name from the village of Tufo, around which the grape originated and is planted, as well as the type of rock on which the village was built. This winery visit was a “pinch-me” moment. Greco di Tufo was the first Campania wine with which I fell in love - hard - and Cantine di Marzo, is indeed considered its birthplace.
