REVIVING POMPEII'S ANCIENT VINEYARDS Archeology of viticulture in the 14 vineyards scattered among the ruins of Pompeii, covering just over one hectare. Now being replanted and tended by the Feudi di San Gregorio group, led by agronomist Pierpaolo Sirch and oenologist Viviana Malafarina as part of a much bigger future plan to reinstate wine production in the archaeological park. It is also a living museum of different planting, trellising and training systems and cultivation of rare and historic local varieties including Sciascinoso and Caprettone.
