ABELLINUM, ROMAN CIVILIZATION IN IRPINIA The ancient city, now Atripalda — Province of Avellino, Campania Region, southern Italy — is located on the left bank of the Sabato river, in a strategic geographical position for controlling the river valley and the connection routes.
