11012025 Three hundred and thirty archive rooms, around 80 kilometers (50 miles) of shelves, documents with 17 million names, hundreds of thousands of payments and detailed accounts: The archive of the Banco di Napoli is unique – a vault full of memories and stories, a reflection of the development of Naples and southern Italy from 1600 to the present day. «The historical archive of the Banco di Napoli is the world's largest collection of banking documents.» And the Treccani, Italy's definitive encyclopedia, calls the bank the «oldest credit institution in Europe.» A trip to the archives of the world's oldest bank reveals a story of a lost Caravaggio and a city of tall tales | NZZ
11022025 This project called Azienda Agricola Pompeii is a private/public partnership between Feudi and the municipality with winery and ageing taking place onsite. Agronomist Pierpaolo Sirch uses a technique called ‘gentle pruning’ that is meant to extend the life of the vines. The grapes used are supposedly ones that existed in Roman times and the wines will be aged in amphora but it will be in a modern style: no spices, resin, honey or ageing for decades.  Sup Pompeii! 11032025 The cookbook invites readers into Franco’s world, detailing his personal story, his philosophy, his recipes, and the birth of his now legendary restaurant. Packed with rich storytelling, behind-the-scenes insights, and pizza recipes; his dough recipe, and his close relationships with his local suppliers. The team included an agronomist and a nutritionist. “I needed to have science by my side, because as well as making a great pizza purely for its deliciousness, I also wanted to make the perfect pizza from the point of view of health and environmental issues.” Franco Pepe, the pizza pro from Chef's Table, has an unusual (but healthy!) recipe for you | Phaidon

How ‘medical schools’ functioned in the Middle Ages, starting with that of Salerno. Issues directly related to the historical knowledge of medicinal plants and the practical and scientific traditions associated with their use, including insights into their application in recent pharmacological developments. 11062025 Campania’s trio of Taurasi, Greco di Tufo and Fiano di Avellino in the Irpinia region receive the majority of critical acclaim, but while that acclaim is deserved, they tend to overshadow what is, in reality, a much more complex region than we’re led to believe. It’s a land bursting at the seams with historical grape varieties, pre-phylloxera vines, volcanic terroirs – and winemakers working  hard to unlock the success of their better-known peers in the Irpinian DOCGs. 11072025 Brianò, the brut sparkling wine from Palazzo Marchesale, is a collaboration between oenologists Stefano Ferrante and Danilo Trabucco, crafted exclusively from 100% Asprinio grapes. These grapes are harvested early from vines cultivated in the traditional alberata style on the Benfidi and Vanacore families’ land in the Aversa countryside. Using 20-meter-high scalilli (ladders), the grapes are handpicked and vinified for sparkling wine production. 11092025 Along with ruling the seas, Amalfi once ruled Europe’s paper. Since the 13th century, artisan have been making carta bambagina, a handmade paper pulped rags of cotton, linen, and hemp so soft. Walk the Ruga Nova Mercatorum as far as it goes and keep walking until you hear the sound of running water - you can get a glimpse of production at the Museo della Carta. 11122025 Walking Capri’s narrow streets in November reveals architecture that mirrors the landscape’s impossibility. Whitewashed cubic buildings cascade down clifftops like scattered sugar cubes. Terracotta roofs catch amber morning light. Wooden shutters in faded blues and greens frame windows overlooking vertical drops to cobalt water. The village’s golden hour transformation occurs twice daily, at 7am and 5pm, when limestone walls glow phosphorescent against darkening sea. ACARBIO is an organization in the hills of Tramonti, dedicated to preserving local biodiversity and culture, promoting sustainability, and creating opportunities for youth and volunteers to engage in meaningful work. "It’s about people. It’s about place. It’s about the connection between the two, and how small actions, when done with heart and intention, can create real change and I will bring that back home." This news hit harder for Americans who love Italian food. American shoppers might not see their favorite brands in the Italian aisle come January – including Rummo, which some celiacs claim makes the “best” gluten-free spaghetti, out of a corn and brown rice mixture. ‘I’m now a one-issue voter’: US shoppers fear Italian pasta tariff will cause shortage | The Guardian

As fate would have it, two years later in mid-summer, the couple returned to the very spot where Nick had knelt and sealed their fate. However, his work is known far beyond Italian borders, thanks to collaborations with renowned international chefs and the opening of outlets abroad. He was the first to envision pastry-making as the pinnacle of agricultural work, specifically that of a four-hectare farm. He revolutionized Cilento pastry-making by using mainly certified organic products – extra virgin olive oil, fruits, vegetables, and aromatic herbs – self-produced on his farm. 11212025 Galleria Solito launches a new exhibition program with the group show “Male Extinction”, featuring works by five artists: to encompass the entire former Lanificio complex at Naples Porta Capuana, a Unesco-listed site. Recent studies by several geneticists suggest that the Y chromosome - a key factor in determining a person's gender - is starting to deteriorate. Evidence has emerged of a powerful role held by women dating as far back as the Stone Age. Within this context, the contemporary art exhibition is presented as a rediscovery of an innate and untamed Self. When women reconnect with their inner lives, the term “wild” should no longer be interpreted in its contemporary sense of “uncontrolled.” Instead, it signifies the natural vitality that forms the very foundation of the feminine soul.
